If we do download it or have a downloaded version in the computer, it freezes up the computer. It appears that Adobe Flash Player is now in the internet parcel (somehow) and we don’t have to download it now. Right away a popup came up that said I had to download Adobe Flash Player - BUT the audio and video on the youtube played just fine without the Adobe download, so I just didn’t download it. I deleted the Adobe Flash player, restarted the computer then went to a music video on youtube. It pulls up a hefty list of “stuff” on the computer.

Roaming the internet, I must have tried everything suggested at least once and nothing worked.įinally, I downloaded the free wise program uninstaller. įolks, I’ve had the same frustrating problem with Firefox - the shockwave crash popup and the computer freezing.I am really frustrated with both AOL.com and Chrome right now. So I again must use Safari to print from the NYT because the “box” is not covering up several sentences on the doc I print. Just like when you use Chrome to PRINT anything on the NYTIMES website, the printer-friendly view incorporates a box of “an upcoming and related article you might wish to read”-which covers about a square inch of 3 or 4 sentences at the right side of the printer-friendly document, once you print it. Since I have no problem using Safari to access AOL.com, it seems to me that it is only a Chrome issue affecting ONLY AOL.com’s website. And then I am getting another error message asking if I wish to continue or kill the loading page. Meanwhile, I am prevented from accessing any other sites via a Tab while the AOL.com site (via Chrome’s browser) is spinning. I have noticed only for the past two days and ONLY using AOL.com, I am getting the plugin not working or shockwave not working. Thank you.Where do I find this: Chrome’s AppData folder. Yeah, I did some essential reading on your forum, but I'll make sure to read that thread again. Honestly, my patience is at its end I find myself relying more and more on other browsers than Chrome, but I will let you know if I try it AdvancedSetup Thank you for more instructions about the hardware acceleration. I'm guessing that it simply doesn't support my old Chrome version (. MB Browser Guard used to work for me in the past, but I'm unable to download it now - I'm getting the "download interrupted" error message from Chrome's webstore. but I had no luck hunting it down (I have, however, gotten it for Mypal - it works beautifully with it, blocks every ad, I've really got no complaints). I'm well aware of how good uBlock Origin is ) It's just not compatible with my Chrome version. Fixed: The running LastPass Mac App can interrupt the computer restart. If so, change the setting, then close the browser and reopen it, then test to see if the issue is fixed. Instructions on changing the hardware acceleration setting can be found here if you wish to give it a shot.

It may also be due to hardware acceleration maybe it doesn't work well under XP or with the XP version of NVIDIA's drivers for some reason.

I'm not sure whether those extensions work under XP, but they should assuming Chrome's code is the same and if it is a compatible version of Chrome for the browser extensions of course. The link that says Chrome in my signature below will take you to the page for the extension if you wish to take a look. If you need a decent ad blocking extension, uBlock Origin is good, and of course Malwarebytes Browser Guard blocks many ads and trackers as well (along with malware, scams and other dangerous and undesirable content).
